In our quest to build Cacao as the leading sanctuary for the best A-beauty brands in the world, we scoured the internet, social media, magazines , and our closed ones brains to unearth skincare and wellness gems. This is how we found Kadalys and fell in love.
What is Kadalys?
Kadalys , from the name "Kadalï" in Sanskrit - which means the banana tree, is a French brand created by Shirley Billot in 2012. Inspired by her passion for Caribbean pharmacopeia, nature and research, she launched the world's first expert brand in the science of the banana tree. To create their skincare products, Kadalys extracts active ingredients from bananas to make organic and ethical cosmetics for all skin types.
Called "the plant of a thousand uses", the banana tree has been known for centuries in traditional Caribbean medicine for its soothing, healing and revitalizing properties and Kadalys celebrates it in its Ecocert and Cosmebio certified formulas. In collaboration with local producers from Martinique and Guadeloupe, Kadalys brings the power of the banana tree to the service of a responsible, natural and highly effective beauty brand. Indeed, environmental commitment is at the heart of the brand, which draws its banana bioactives from food industry agro-waste. Also, the banana farmers of Martinique and Guadeloupe are shareholders of Kadalys, for a real fair trade.
