Natural beauty tips of Queen Cleopatra

Natural beauty tips of Queen Cleopatra

Cleopatra is one of the most famous queens of all time. She ruled ancient Egypt thanks to her diplomatic power. According to historians, she used many natural beauty ingredients whose healing properties were recognized in her time. Today, the beauty industry is reclaiming some of these natural products  and adapting them to the times. In this article, we will explore some of the natural skin care rituals attributed to the mythical Cleopatra.
Let's not forget that Cleopatra lived in Egypt, where the climate is hot and dry and her skin  must have suffered from dehydration. Thus, many of the natural products she used are very moisturizing.

Cleopatra's most famous beauty ritual

It is her bath. This bath was so exceptional that it has been reproduced in many cinematographic works about Cleopatra. Her bath had a silky white color and the reason for this was the donkey milk and honey that it contained. Donkey's milk contains vitamins A, C and E which help to protect and soothe the skin. The milk also has an exfoliating action which helps to keep the skin soft. These virtues of milk are found in lactic acid.

Honey nourishes and moisturizes the skin because it is rich in minerals, vitamins (especially A, B and C), amino acids, trace elements and antioxidants (flavonoids), it helps fight against skin aging.

Some  skin care products that use lactic acid and honey in our store are :

- The Organic Clarifying Lotion from Kadalys

- The soothing mask Honey, Neroli by Nectarome

More beauty rituals from Cleopatra

Cleopatra had many more beauty rituals but we have chosen to focus on two of them : shea butter and moringa oil.

Shea butter

It is said that raw shea butter was so precious to the Egyptian queens that they brought it in caravans from sub-Saharan Africa.  This butter is spread on the skin for perfect hydration. Shea butter contains fatty acids and vitamins A, D, E and F which allow it to regulate the skin's moisture level, nourish and protect the skin barrier. It is ideal for the in-depth hydration of all types of skin.

You can find raw vegan ivory shea butter in our store. The one marketed by the brand Liha beauty.

Moringa oil

Cleopatra used the oil extracted from the moringa tree to reduce the appearance of signs of aging such as wrinkles and fine lines.  This is because of its high content of zeatin and vitamin E. This oil has many virtues for the skin. Indeed, moringa oil moisturizes and protects the skin thanks to the fatty acids it contains. The vitamins A and C it contains also act on the radiance of the skin. This oil also has antimicrobial properties that allow it to fight against acne and get rid of dark spots on the skin. The Nebedai brand offers skin care products based on moringa oil. Here are those that you can find in our store are:

- The Divine Cleansing Oil

- The Glow Divin

- The Divine Night Spot Treatment
